Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair offers still up for grabs oneworld fares also receive encouraging response

Malaysia Airlines’ attractive and value for money fares to domestic and international destinations are still up for grabs till 11 February for travel from now till 30 November 2013. These offers of up to 35% discounts on international routes and 40% on domestic routes as well as special oneworld fares to destinations beyond the Malaysia Airlines network are being snapped up fast by travellers who are planning early for their journeys.

Encouragingly, most travelers have snapped up seats for immediate travel in the months of February and March and based on the subsequent trends after the first few days, consumers are also beginning to plan and book for travel in the later months of the year. At least 65% of the consumers have booked their travel online through www.malaysiaairlines.com while another 27% snapped up the offers through other global distribution systems.

Regional Senior Vice President Malaysia & ASEAN Region, Muzammil Mohamad said, “These offers are only available till 11 February but it is for travel up to November this year. This is definitely a great opportunity for travelers to plan and book their travel for the later part of this year. So far, the response to this campaign has been extremely encouraging and there is a clear indication that our flagship A380 product is proving to delight our customers with its offerings”.

London is still the favourite destination with all-inclusive economy class return fare starting from only RM3409. The A380 business class has also proved to be travellers’ favourite with a generous seat pitch of 74 inches, full flat bed, big 17-inch video screen and double the entertainment content. With all this, customers can be rest assured of a Business Class journey that’s more pleasure than business. The next favourites of consumers are fares to Beijing, Shanghai Guangzhou and Taipei while Perth and Melbourne continue to be the preferred destinations in Australia.

Effective 1 March 2013, Economy class travel on the state-of-art A380 to Paris is possible at an all inclusive return airfares starting from RM2899. A “Golden Ticket “campaign to Paris, allows economy class customers a chance to be upgraded to business class when travelling between 1 March 2013 and 30 Sept 2013. Winners of “Golden Tickets “will be randomly chosen by seat number on flights between Kuala Lumpur and Paris. While seats to Paris on the first few A380 flights have all been taken up, capacity is still available for the subsequent flights.

Fares to domestic destinations also see discounts up to 40%. The all in return fare to Kota Kinabalu and Kuching from Kuala Lumpur starts from only RM428 on Economy Class travel and RM1960 and RM1560 respectively on Business Class. Economy class travel to Penang from Kuala Lumpur is up for grabs starting from only RM238 while its offer starts from RM760 on Business Class. The Kuala Lumpur - Johor Bahru - Kuala Lumpur route is offered at all in return fares from only RM248 on Economy class travel while costing from only RM760 on Business Class.

In addition to Malaysia Airlines entry into the prestigious oneworld alliance allows its customers numerous options to travel up to 842 destinations in 156 countries, served by some 9,000 departures a day operated by a combined fleet of some 2,500 aircraft. In conjunction with this alliance membership, Malaysia Airlines is also offering attractive through fares to various cities beyond its own destinations.  

Adding to the benefit, Malaysia Airlines’ Enrich frequent flyer members will have their privileges extended to whenever they fly with any oneworld member airline worldwide – including the ability to earn and redeem Enrich reward points throughout the alliance’s global network. Enrich Platinum and Gold members will be able to use the 550 airport lounges worldwide offered by oneworld member airlines whenever they fly with any of the alliance’s carriers.
