French Chef Amandine Chaignot develops Malaysia Airlines' inflight menus for premium passengers

Malaysia Airlines passengers traveling First and Business classes on the Paris/Kuala Lumpur daily A380 flights will enjoy exclusive French inflight meal delights effective 1 April 2013.

This enhanced inflight dining service is made possible through Ms Amandine Chaignot, current Chef of the Le Raphaël restaurant in Paris.

Ms Chaignot, a young rising star of French gastronomy, will develop and sign brand new menus specially designed for Malaysia Airlines’ First and Business Class passengers on the national carrier’s daily A380 from Paris to Kuala Lumpur for one year.

Regional Senior Vice President for Europe, Huib Gorter said, “In conjunction with the introduction of the A380 on our Paris - Kuala Lumpur route effective 1 March this year, we decided to commemorate this with the best in terms of gastronomy on board for our premium passengers. We are delighted to develop this collaboration with Amandine Chaignot who embodies the talent and the creativity of the young generation of French Chefs.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Chaignot said, “I am very honored by the trust placed in me by Malaysia Airlines and I am looking forward to develop a partnership with an airline whose quality of service is regularly recognized in the key award schemes every year.”

The premium class passengers on Malaysia Airlines’ daily flights from Paris will be able to discover and taste the delightful and unique creations of Ms Chaignot who will develop a set of 5 starters, a choice of 5 main hot dishes and 2 desserts, symbolizing the variety and the unmistakable qualities of traditional French gastronomy.

The dishes will alternate every two months, to provide choice inflight dining options for the premium passengers on the Paris - Kuala Lumpur route.

To ensure the success of this initiative, Ms Chaignot will work hand in hand with Chef Zahiddin of Malaysia Airlines as well as Chef Michel Quissac, the Corporate Chef of Servair and member of the French Culinary Academy. Servair is the current inflight caterer for Malaysia Airlines flights out of Paris.

These dishes will complement the traditional Malaysian menu options offered to passengers on board. As a result, premium travelers flying on the airline’s brand new A380 service from Paris to Kuala Lumpur will be able to savour the best of both French and Malaysian cuisines.
