Malaysia Airlines All Airbus A330 Service for Kuala Lumpur - Australia Routes Effective 1 April 2013

From 1 April 2013 onwards, Malaysia Airlines flight network between Kuala Lumpur and its 5 Australian destinations will now be operated using the latest 283-seater A330-300 aircraft, giving passengers a more comfortable journey on board a new aircraft fleet. This upgrade in aircraft to the A330-300 series follows the final B777 service which was phased out from the Kuala Lumpur-Sydney route yesterday.

According to Malaysia Airlines’ Head of Network & Revenue Management, Shihaj Abdulla Kutty, “The Australia/New Zealand segment of our network remains an important market for our operations, especially for the connectivity it provides on the Kangaroo route to and from Europe. With the switching over to the latest fuel-efficient A330 aircraft on all our routes between Australia and Kuala Lumpur, we have also adjusted some flight timings and days of operations to provide better connectivity for our customers traveling beyond Kuala Lumpur.”

“The upgrade of aircraft to the A330-300 for the Australia sector will enable our guests to have a more comfortable journey with state-of-the-art inflight amenities, complemented by our signature Malaysian Hospitality delivered by the world’s best cabin staff. For guests travelling long-haul from Australia and onwards to London and Paris, they will essentially be travelling on the new A330s out of Australia, and connecting to the new A380 at Kuala Lumpur all the way to Europe. It’s Malaysia Airlines’ latest product offering all the way!”

Currently Malaysia Airlines operates the following weekly A330-300 frequencies between Kuala Lumpur and Australia

·         Twice daily between Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne
·         Twice daily flights between Kuala Lumpur and Sydney
·         Ten weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Perth
·         Daily flights between Kuala Lumpur and Adelaide
·         Five weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Brisbane

All seats in the Airbus A330-300 are equipped with AC power supply and USB ports for laptops and electronic equipment. In addition to the enhanced inflight entertainment featuring a larger selection of the latest movies and music, Business Class guests going to Australia can now enjoy the premium “Chef-on-Call” service which features various meal options ranging from Malaysian favourites, international cuisine, chef’s recommendations as well as light and healthy choices. Pre-book “Chef-on-Call” meals at least 24 hours before flight.

Malaysia Airlines is a multiple award-winning airline. In 2012, it was rated a 5-star airline by SKYTRAX, and voted the ‘World’s Best Airline Cabin Crew’ and ‘Best Airline Signature Dish’ for its Satay, a traditional Malay savoury dish.
